This hand line rig is made for the the biggest grouper in the water. Made with 100 feet of 1/2in marine grade three strand rope that is directly spliced to a 1000 pound cast net swivel. Then double crimped to 480 pound stainless steel cable double crimped again to a 16/0 Mustad in line heavy duty circle hook. The rope also has a fixed splice loop at the end.

What Can I Catch With This Rig?
This rig is purposely made to catch goliath grouper. This rig allows you to catch them quickly without abusing conventional tackle. The 1/2in rope really allows you to put a lot more pressure against them and bring them to the surface a lot faster then with a rod and reel.
How Do I Use This Handline Rigs?
We recommend firstly attaching the fixed loop at the end of the rope to a cleat or something in case you drop the rope or gets pulled out of your hands. That way you don't loose your 100$ rig.
Then hook on your favorite bait in our experience they tend to not be very picky. Leftover fish carcass, frozen bonito, frozen jack crevalle, etc. Don't over think it what ever you can get your hands on will probably work just fine.
Drop down your bait and usually if possible try and suspend your bait off the bottom. This forces them to eat the bait off the bottom and maximizing your chances of them not getting into the structure and breaking you off.
Once your bait gets eaten pull the rope tight to set the hook and hang on. NEVER WRAP YOUR HANDS AROUND THE ROPE AND INSURE SOMEONE IS SPOTTING YOU. YOU SHOULD NEVER ATTEMPT TO USE THIS HANDLINE BY YOURSELF.
Once the fish is next to the boat use a dehooker or bolt cutters to remove the hook safely and let the fish recover and swim back down.
