Shimano has reengineered the Talavera Type Slow J series with jig focused features that deliver comfort and on water performance for jiggers of all experience levels. Available in three models ranging from ML to MH power, the Talavera Type Slow J lineup is built to target a wide range of bottom dwelling and pelagic species.

• DIAFLASH: Reinforces the butt section with opposing wraps of carbon tape, minimizing twist and maximizing strength for precise casts, solid hooksets, and control over big fish

• Fuji Guides: Reduce line friction and twist for smoother casts, better durability, and reliable performance under load

Shimano has reengineered the Talavera Type Slow J A series with jig-focused features that deliver comfort and on-water performance for jiggers of all experience levels. Available in three models ranging from ML to MH power, the Talavera Type Slow J A lineup is built to target a wide range of bottom-dwelling and pelagic species. Featuring an ultra-durable solid carbon blank, each rod is designed for slow, methodical jigging. Its parabolic action loads and unloads with every lift, pitching the jig upward before allowing it to fall with an erratic flutter that mimics a wounded baitfish. This action is further enhanced by DIAFLASH technology, carbon tape reinforcement in the lower blank that reduces twist for more precise jig movement while adding power through the rear section for smoother, more controlled fights. Fuji O guides provide smooth line flow to help jigs reach the strike zone efficiently, while the updated reel seat creates a lightweight, rigid connection that won’t flex under heavy load, critical when pulling powerful fish from deep structure. Finally, durable EVA grips ensure lasting comfort during long days at the rail.
